Afro Green Zone International is a collaborative effort towards promotion of green economy initiatives in Africa region. A non governmental voluntary organization with a mandate to advocate for a greener environment for sustainable economic development in Africa. We have come together with a shared conviction that the time for talk about global warming has passed, and that significant corporate, consumer, and political action is now necessary.

VISION

A sustained green economy initiative where natural resources are harnessed for human well being and poverty eradication in Africa continent.

MISSION

To facilitate action in line with the vision of the organization, through participatory approach of driven programmes while providing policymakers and other stakeholders with information on important role of the government and companies towards the actualization of green economy in Africa.

OBJECTIVES

	To Identify potential impediments while proffering workable solutions towards of transformation of African economy into a green economy.
	To create awareness of a right based approach and advocate that the environmental areas such as ecosystems, clean and efficient technology, renewable energy, chemical and electronic waste management, commercialized agriculture, biodiversity based business, sustainable cities, buildings construction, and transport are the new engines for economic growth in the future.
	Develop training programmes and strengthens capacity buildings for sustainability of green economy initiatives in Africa through networking with NGO's, government institutions, private sectors, manufacturing companies, business organizations and development partners.
	Direct participation in green economy initiative pilot projects and engage advocacy stakeholders roles in providing socio economic facilities.
	Facilitates actions for positive behavioral change through seminar, workshops, creativity and motivation to encourage participation in the fight against, climate change and environmental degradation in our local communities

ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE OF AGZI

Afro Green Zone International is headed by president / chairman, who preside over all the meetings of AGZI, a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who oversees the daily operations of AGZI, administrative secretary, eight development promotion directors and numerous green ambassador volunteers.

Training and Enlightenment:

Campaign on Climate change and environmental degradation, behavioral changes, commercial and improved agriculture production, recycling, green technologies, solar , wind, biofuel and sustainable green economy initiatives through seminar workshops and symposia..

Community Based Green Economy Initiatives:

Identify potentials green economy projects in the community, facilitate dialogue and establish contacts/working relationship, encourage communities to initiate socio-economic activities to promote eco-tourism aimed at reducing poverty and sustainable use of natural resources.

Green Economy Watch:

Monitoring of agricultural and environmental activities in local communities and sensitizing them on the latest technology on green revolution, with evaluation and impact assessment of the green economy initiatives through periodic publications and programmes..

Agro and Environmental Festivals and Shows:

Organization of Agricultural and green environmental festival in a unique way with creativity as a tool to inform and encourage investing in the environment for sustainable economic development and poverty reduction.
